Day 1: Honouring Your Journey
Quick Guide to Yoga for Matrescence
Download the PDF, take 10 minutes (with a cup of tea) to read the sections relevant to your stage.
Option: do your stage's yoga sequence, then journal for 60 seconds (prompts: My stage is: <pre-conception/ pre-natal/post-natal>. Post-sequence I feel ____________.)
Download nowDay 2: Moving With Love
Enjoy a 30-minute 'taster' class with modifications included to accommodate pre-conception, pre-natal, and post-natal needs.
Option:
Before class - tune in to body, mind and breath. Assign each a score on a scale of 1-10 (1 = worst ever, 10 = best ever) - no pressure to pick the perfect number, just anything that comes up.
Then, post-class journalling for 60 seconds:
Prompts - repeat body/mind/breath scores and record any differences. And/or 'the most helpful pose for me today was __________'.
Day 3: Softening Into Stillness
Spend 20 minutes today on a body scan - reducing stress (and cortisol, good for hormone balance as well as nervous system release), building emotional awareness and connection with self (and baby), and restorative rest.
Option:
Post-meditation journalling for 60 seconds (prompts: I have been feeling ___________ <heavy/ painful/tired/great/other> today. After meditating, I feel __________ <better/worse/same/other>.)
Day 4: Pausing For Reflection
Download the mini-course reflection PDF below, and spend 10 minutes using the prompts to help you review how you're feeling about the week - and the practices - to date.
Option:
Bonus pranayama practice below - bhramari (aka 'humming bee') breath. Try out that body/mind/breath check-in before and after for extra awareness.
